Underwater System

Underwater System

Area Covered: This system is applied to the underwater portion of a ship’s hull, which is continuously submerged in water.

• Protects the hull from corrosion caused by constant exposure to seawater.
• Prevents biofouling (the accumulation of marine organisms like algae and barnacles).
• Enhances fuel efficiency by maintaining a smooth hull surface.
Coating Types:
• Anti-fouling coatings: Contain biocides to prevent organism growth.
• Anti-corrosion coatings: Protect the hull’s material from rust and degradation.
• Primer layers for adhesion and additional protection.

Environmental Conditions: Designed for prolonged immersion in seawater.

Boot Top System

Boot Top System

Area Covered: This system is applied to the boot top area, which is the transitional zone between the underwater portion and the exposed hull. It lies between the light load line and the full load line.
Purpose:
•  Protects against abrasion and impact from floating debris, docks, or piers.
• Resists occasional exposure to both air and water, as the boot top area experiences wet and dry cycles.
• Ensures a durable and visually appealing finish for the portion often visible above water.
Coating Types:
• Tough abrasion-resistant coatings.
• Flexible coatings to handle alternating wet-dry cycles.
• Often includes UV-resistant properties for areas exposed to sunlight.
