A wide range solvent based oil stain, formulated from a modified binders dispersed in suitable solvent to emphasize their coloristic effect. Oil wood stain enhances the appearance of naturel wood and protect against most forms of rot and fungal attack.
Ideally suited for all types of wood cladding, particularly on exterior surfaces.
All timber species must be fully aged with a moisture content of less than 15%. Surface must be dry, clean and free from contaminations. Natural oil or gum must be removed by solvent
cleaning.
To obtain optimum surface finish sand the wood properly in the same direction of the wood grain, utilize sanding paper No. [120]. for filling perfection of wood grain it is adequate sanding between coats depending on the desired covering effect, and removal of dust.
Oil wood stains can be applied by hand-held or on-line spray guns, with running spray guns, roller or by immersion. After spray application the stains can be wiped off also with line running brushes. The amount of thinning depends on the color required, the type of application, the type of material to be stained (material, shape and size). The choice of thinners depends on the conditions of work, application, the time available and the need to limit the emission of VOC (volatile organic Compound) into the air.
Stir well before use. Thin to the required viscosity ensuring the product is homogeneous.
Dilution
It is advisable and after stirring the product, to dilute the product with Turpentine. The dilution is related to the concentration required of the color on the wood. The dilution varies from 200% to 500%.
