PU Sealer LOW VOC Solvent Base
A two component material with high covering power, elasticity and sanding characteristics. Because of the excellent quality of raw material, it does give a covering film of great transparency and requires minimum coat. Best for furniture, office tables, shelves, turned pieces, cabinet, and all wood works. . This material is following the DCL Certification no. CL 16020409. It has VOC of 397 g/L. (GBRS limit is max. 500 g/L), Heavy Metals: Cadmium and Chromium (GBRS
limit<500 mg/kg), Arsenic, Mercury and Lead (GBRS limit<100 mg/kg, Formaldehyde≤ 10 mg/kg.

All timber species must be fully aged with a moisture content of less than 15%. The surface must be dry, clean and free from contaminations. Natural oil or gum must be removed by solvent cleaning.
To obtain optimum surface finish, sand the wood properly in the same direction of the wood grain, utilize sanding paper no. [120]. Then and after sealer drying, utilize paper No.[220] to create smoothness to the substrate, then utilize paper No.[400 ] to achieve perfection of substrate till reaching between coats is essential, practice adequate sanding and remove dust prior to application of first coat. Control the compatibility of Stains eventually used.

Stir product well with a flat paddle. Add the correct quantity of hardener and stir till homogeneous.
Thin to required viscosity. For details of spray equipment contact Ritver Technical Services Department.
Dilution
Spraying: Dilute with PU thinner TP292 at 25-30%.
Curtain Coater: Dilute with PU thinner TP292 at 20%.
In case of hot and humid climate, add 5 -10% of PU retardant thinner TP222.
N.B: In winter we suggest T P 2 9 0 for faster drying and in hot climate we can use TP292 to avoid bubbles and blooming.
Depends on the finishes required but in general an appropriate rate is 130 gr / sq.m. The number of coats depends on the surface preparation the porosity of the substrate, and the finish required.
Following Treatments
By Spray gun: It is possible even to use airless and air-mix equipment. For details of spray equipment contact Ritver Technical Services
Department.
By Curtain: This product can be applied even with curtain coater; control the viscosity during application adding PU thinner to balance the evaporation of solvents.
Apply one or more coats according to the desired covering.
It is possible to apply matt and glossy top finish, polyurethane or nitrocellulose based, due to the working cycle used, and belonged to our furniture series.
Note
For a correct working cycle, verify that:
– Used stain must be dry;
– Substrate humidity must be under 20%;
– No grease and residues on substrate that can cause defect on wetting;
– Substrate hadn’t treated with ammonia and peroxide.
For a better result of covering, sanding between coats is advisable. Follow the indication of reducing and time of interval coats.
Available in 1Ltr, 5Ltrs, 25Ltrs.
If the drum is hermetically closed and well stored at 25oC, the product has 18 months of shelf-life.
The hardeners have six months of shelf-life
