PU Topcoat Clear Full Gloss LOW VOC Solvent Base

Clear polyurethane two components glossy product, endowed with good solid contents and build, very good brightness and hardness. This is a versatile product, possible to apply with different hardeners to varnish furniture and furnishing components, doors, etc. [This material is following the DCL Certification no. CL 16020409. It has VOC of 397 g/l.
(GBRS limit is max. 500 g/l), Heavy Metals: Cadmium and Chromium (GBRS limit<500 mg/kg), Arsenic, Mercury and Lead (GBRS limit<100 mg/kg, Formaldehyde≤ 10 mg/kg].

It can be used on veneer substrates, solid wood, MDF, treated with pigmented polyurethane or polyester basecoats. Apply two or more coats according to the desired covering. After drying, sand the basecoat with sanding paper 220 grain followed by 400 grain type; be sure do not leave any sanding residues (or other) on substrate before application of the glossy top-finish.

Dilution
Spraying: Dilute with PU thinner TP294 or TP297 at 50-70%.
Curtain Coater: Dilute with PU thinner TP294 or TP297 at 50%.
In case of hot and humid climate, add 5 -10% of PU retardant thinner TP222.

Depends on the finishes required but in general an appropriate rate is 130 gr / sq. m. The number of coats depends on the surface preparation the porosity of the substrate, and the finish required.
Following Treatments
By spray gun: Use a spray gun with 1.8 -2 mm nozzle at 3-4 atm/bar of pressure. It can be used even airless or air-mix equipment’s.
By Curtain Coater: It is very important to keep controlled the viscosity during the application, adding PU thinner to compensate the solvents evaporation.
The glossy finish can be applied in one coat, or in two coats 2 hours interval without sanding. After 2-3 hrs. It is necessary to sand between coats to avoid any inconvenience.

After drying this product, it does not need any particular subsequent treatment, except for the eventually brushing and polishing treatment using proper abrasives.
Note
Using this product with ECD 1004, it can treat even handicraft outdoor exposed (be sure to use basecoats goods for this varnishing cycle). In this case take care to cover with varnish all the exposed parts, to prevent any type of infiltration. Only like this it is possible to have a product with good outdoor resistance, to take away in the time the defiling of the varnish.

Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with [TC010] Tool Cleaner.

If the drum is hermetically closed and well stored at 25oC, the product has 18 months of shelf life. The hardener have 6 months of shelf life.

This material is flammable and must not be exposed to naked flames.
Use only in well ventilated areas. In case of insufficient ventilation during application, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Do not breathe vapor / spray. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of sweet water and seek medical advice. In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water or a recognized skin cleanser.
Keep away from sources of ignition. No Smoking. Keep out of reach of children.
