All timber species must be fully aged with a moisture content of less than 15%. The surface must be dry, clean and free from contaminations. Natural oil or gum must be removed by solvent cleaning.

To obtain optimum surface finish, sand the wood properly in the same direction of the wood grain, utilize sanding paper no. [100]. Then and after surface leveling, remove the dust prior to application of first coat PU Sanding Sealer diluted 50-60% . After drying, [1.30 hrs.], over coated with [ECD 1456] PU Primer, this will be for very porous wood.
For normal wood, sand the surface with sanding paper no. [100], and after remove the dust, and apply directly the [ECD 1456] PU primer.

Dilution
Spraying: Dilute with PU thinner or TP291 at 25-30%.
Curtain Coater: Dilute with PU thinner TP219 at 20%.
NB: In winter we suggest TP290 for faster drying and in hot climate we can use TP292 to avoid bubbles and blooming.

Depends on the finishes required but in general an appropriate rate is 130 gr / sq. m. The number of coats depends on the surface preparation the porosity of the substrate, and the finish required.
Following Treatments
By spray gun: Use spray gun with nozzles 1.5-2 mm. at 3-4 atm/bar.
By Curtain Coater: Apply the product ready to use, controlling the stability in machine. Apply 1, 2 or 3 coats, depending on the substrate.

After drying and sanding, it is possible to apply a PU pigmented top finish glossy or matt.
Note: To obtain a very good finish result, we advise to use our pigmented polyurethane matt and glossy finishing. To increase adherence and covering, we suggest to sand (little sanding) between coats.
