Wood Preservative Sealer Solvent Base
A solvent based impregnating wood preservative sealer, formulated with special alkyd resins , designed with special penetrating staining characteristics to wood substrate and works like anti termite and guards against rotting (caused by damp, blue decay, fungus and other causes of deterioration), provides the chemical and physical characteristics of protection to wood fibers from the degradation due to the ultraviolet rays attack, while acting as a filter.

It is ideal for protecting chalets, exterior or interior match boarding, wooden parts of balconies, doors, windows, staircases, garden furniture, pergolas and all types of interior and exterior applications. Wood preservative sealer was produced in the colorless version and in a wide range of wood paints, based in the three basic colors: yellow, red and black ,which properly mixed among them and if reduced with the transparent converter it allows to obtain any color . This alternative allows to considerably reduce the paint storage supply and rendering wide the obtainable range of colors.
All timber species must be fully aged with a moisture content of less than 15%. Surface must be dry, clean and free from contaminations. Natural oil or gum must be removed by solvent cleaning.
To obtain optimum surface finish sand the wood properly in the same direction of the wood grain, utilize sanding paper no. [120], to achieve perfection of substrate. For filling of wood grain it is adequate sanding between coats depending on the desired covering effect, and removal of dust. In the event of wood that has grayed as a result of continuous exposure to outdoor conditions, we recommend planning down to the bare wood, then applying a dark shade of CLIMA IMPREGNATING AGENT.)
Depends on the finishes required but in general an appropriate rate is 100 g /sq.m. The number of coats depends on the surface preparation the porosity of the substrate, and the finish required. For details of spray equipment contact Ritver Technical Services Department.
The temperature should be between 5-35oC and the relative humidity should not exceed 70%.To ensure maximum wood resistance to outdoor conditions. we advise applying 5 _ 6 coats of colored CLIMA IMPREGNATING AGENT, allowing 24 hours between coats. In case of highly absorbent wood (i.e. parts that have been exposed to the elements for years or coniferous wood with varying degrees of absorbency), it is good practice to start the treatment with one coat of clear, color less. CLIMA IMPREGNATING AGENT, to ensure that subsequent coats of colored CLIMA IMPREGNATING AGENT are evenly absorbed. To guarantee a perfectly even finish when applying by brush, the brush stokes must follow the grain of the wood. After as few minutes, remove any excess with a sponge or dry brush. CLIMA IMPREGNATING AGENT may also be applied by spraying and dip coating, in which case the product must be diluted at 10-30%.
Dilution
For brushing , spraying and dipping the product is ready to use and dilution is not required .
Should you wish to give the wood treated with CLIMA IMPREGNATING AGENT a natural, attractive finish, we particularly recommend CLIMA top coat [WB72X0] , a clear, protective, satin-finish top coat. This is non film-forming protective coating, specially formulated to complete the CLIMA range and provide improved protection as well as a natural-looking, sophisticated finish that has the “full”, smooth and silky feel of wax coatings. If you prefer a gloss finish, allow 2-3 days after applying the impregnating agent, then apply a synthetic coating, synthetic oil or one-pack polyurethane coating. We do not advise using nitro-cellulose or two pack topcoats unless 8-10 days are allowed from the day where CLIMA IMPREGNATING AGENT was applied, after checking that no filling has occurred and that the color has not changed.
