Water borne wood preservative sealer WB711 is developed as basecoat to protect wood from atmospheric agents, micro-organism and funga attack. The pigments are added for resistant to light, and prevent light timbers from turning to grey colors due to UV rays. The water-repellent and water-regulating treatment allow the wood to breath naturally. The smooth and satin surface does not pulverize, crack or defoil.
WB711 is suitable for all type of applications inside and outside timbers such as: [chalets, wood houses, matchboards, underroof coatings, window/door, frames, shutters, fences, gates etc.] made of coniferous timber or timber without tannins or inhibitors as these could compromise flow levelling, color uniformity and damage the appearance of handicrafts. WB711 sealer water base is produced in the colorless version and in a wide range of wood essence paints besides in the three basic colors: yellow, red and black which properly mixed among them and if reduced with the transparent converter, allow to obtain any color. This alternative allows to considerably reduce the paint storage supply, rendering wide the obtainable range of colors.
Dilution
For spray, brush or dipping, these products are sold as ready to use, and if necessary it may be
dilute with water at no more than 5%.
All timber species must be fully aged with a moisture content of less than 15%. Surface must be dry, clean and free from contaminations. Natural oil or gum must be removed by solvent cleaning.
New timber: The timber must be free from dust, fat or wax, and the maximum humidity should be 25%. For application on normal timbers (coniferous, broad-leaf) it is enough to make sure that the handicraft to be varnished is clean. For timbers rich in resin, it is better to clean accurately with a cloth soaked in Nitro thinner. Use paper of at least 150 grain for sand.
Old timbers It is necessary to remove the old varnish by paint remover or by sanding whenever the substrate has cracks or RITVER outside damages; anyway we suggest a short superficial sanding with 150-180 grain paper.
Finish of unstable timbers (fences, matchboards): 1 or 2 coats of [WB711] WB – wood preservative Sealer, must be applied for outside according to the protection degree and the colour desired leaving 4-6 hrs, in between coats. Finish with a top coat wood preservative.
Finish of stable timbers (door and window frames, gates): apply one coat of [WB711] Wood Preservative Sealer contain biocides. Therefore they should be used only when timber protection is necessary and anyway not in living rooms, bedrooms or where foodstuff are kept.
Caution: Beware of ice. Do not store or work below 5°C. We recommend to make tests on timber before starting a working cycle.
In according with Catas certification (EN972-2 performance specification), the appropriate cycle to follow is:
-2 coats of 150g/m2 flow coating of wood preservative sealer water base for exterior WB711
-3 coats of 150g/m2 of top coat water base for exterior WT73X0
For details of spray equipment contact Ritver Technical Services Department. The atmospheric temperature should be between 5ºc to 35 ºc and the relative humidity should not exceed of 70% during the application.
NOTE
Colourless[WB711] does not prevent wood which are exposed to the sunlight form graying as well as from other atmospherec agents. That is why it is maily used as a protective coat to guard
wooden substrate against mould, followed by a coat of colored WB711 only for the protection against sunlight and color variation.
