A solvent based impregnating agent formulated with special long-oil alkyd resins. It is ideal for protecting chalets, exterior or interior match boarding, wooden parts of balconies, doors, windows, staircases, garden furniture, pergolas and all types of interior and exterior applications. The product penetrates the fibers of the wood quickly and it is works like anti termite and also guards against rotting (caused by damp, blue decay, fungus and other causes of deterioration). WT 2438-Clear Impregnating Agent is produced in the colorless version and in a wide range of wood essence paints as in realized in the LUCE color card , and is based on the three basic colors: yellow, red and black ,which properly mixed among them and if reduced with the transparent converter, it allows to obtain any color . This alternative allows to considerably reduce the paint storage supply, rendering wide the obtainable range of colors. The strainers applied in the WT 2438-Clear production had been selected among the most transparent to the visible spectrum and the most light proof among those currently available ,provides with the chemical and physical characteristics of protecting the wood fibers from the degradation due to the ultraviolet rays attack, while acting as a filter. It works as impregnate sealer and topcoat at the same time.

All timber species must be fully aged with a moisture content of less than 15%. Surface must be dry, clean and free from contaminations. Natural oil or gum must be removed by solvent cleaning.
The surface must be clean and rubbed down to the bare wood, free from grease or wax and with humidity of no more than 18% (ideally, 12 – 16%). Any Knotty, greasy or resinous areas should be cleaned thoroughly with a nitro-cellulose thinner. Oily or resinous wood (such as teak or rosewood) should be washed down completely with the same type of thinner. In the event of wood that has grayed as a result of continuous exposure to outdoor conditions, we recommend planning down to the bare wood, then applying a dark shade of LUCE IMPREGNATING AGENT.)

Depends on the finishes required but in general an appropriate rate is 100 g /sq.m. The number of coats depends on the surface preparation the porosity of the substrate, and the finish required. For details of spray equipment contact Ritver Technical Services Department. The temperature should be between + 5o and + 35oC and the relative humidity should not be in excess of 70%.To ensure maximum resistance of the wood to outdoor conditions. We advise applying 5 – 6 coats of colored LUCE IMPREGNATING AGENT, allowing 24 hours between coats. In the case of highly absorbent wood (i.e. parts that have been exposed to the elements for
years or coniferous wood with varying degrees of absorbency), it is good practice to start the treatment with one coat of clear, color less. LUCE IMPREGNATING AGENT, to ensure that subsequent coats of colored LUCE IMPREGNATING AGENT are evenly absorbed. To guarantee a perfectly even finish when applying by brush, the brush stokes must follow the grain of the wood. After as few minutes, remove any excess with a sponge or dry brush. LUCE IMPREGNATING AGENT may also be applied by spraying and dip coating, in which case the product must be diluted at 10-30%.

Dilution
For brushing , spraying and dipping the product is ready to use and dilution is not required .

Should you wish to give the wood treated with LUCE IMPREGNATING AGENT a natural, attractive finish, we particularly recommend LUCE top coat WT 72X0 , a clear, protective, satin-finish top coat. This is non film-forming protective coating, specially formulated to complete the LUCE range and provide improved protection as well as a natural-looking, sophisticated finish that has the “full”, smooth and silky feel of wax coatings. If you prefer a gloss finish, allow 2-3 days after applying the impregnating agent, then apply a synthetic coating, synthetic oil or one-pack polyurethane coating.
We do not advise using nitro-cellulose or two pack topcoats unless 8-10 days are allowed from when the LUCE IMPREGNATING AGENT was applied, after checking that no filling has occurred and that the color has not changed.

This material is flammable and must not be exposed to naked flames or direct sun light. Use only in well ventilated areas. In case of insufficient ventilation during application wear suitable respiratory equipment. Do not breathe vapor / spray. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of sweet water and seek medical advice.
In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water or a recognized skin cleaner.
Keep away from sources of ignition. No Smoking. Keep out of reach of children.
